Parr who worked as an office worker at the Dominion Bridge Company in Lachine, Quebec from 1916 to 1959. Parr recalls her first job as a stenographer and payroll clerk and her later work in the Mechanical Engineering Department where she spent 27 years and finally, her work in the Executive Offices from 1947 to 1959. During World War I, Parr was responsible for keeping detailed ledgers for the production shedules and costs of the many types of shells produced by the company. Also, noteworthy discussion of the many expansions of the Lachine facilities, the various activities organized by the employee's recreation club including the skating rink and tennis courts on the company's property and the company pension plan begun in 1944. Throughout the interview, Parr talks about various company executives including Phelps Johnson, George Duggan, William Angus, Whitham Taylor-Bailey, all former presidents of Dominion Bridge.Language:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
