These unedited recordings consist of testimony recorded by the Cable Public Affairs Channel in Ottawa, Ontario. Testimony is provided by retuning witness, Lieutenant-Colonel Douglas Southen. Examination-in-chief resumes from previous day with questioning by Lynn Lovett of Commission Counsel.~Supplementary examination follows with questioning by Lieutenant- Commander [Werth] for the Government of Canada. Cross-examination then ensues with questioning by Marc Cigana, counsel for Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) Carol Mathieu, and Stuart Hendin, counsel for Colonel Serge Labb. Re-examination follows with questioning by Lovett.~Testimony is also provided by LCol Donald Young, Serving Officer and former Aviation Advisor and Deputy Commander of 1st Commando Division, Aviation Wing, Chief of Staff (COS) Canadian Joint Force Somalia (CJFS). Questioning is conducted by Ian Stauffer of Commission Counsel.~Subjects include the responsibilities of the COS, Young's role as advisor to Colonel Serge Labb, the operation of 1st Commando as the Joint Task Force Headquarters, the National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) manning ceiling for the Canadian Airborne Regiment (CAR) Battle Group, and in-theatre logistics support of the CAR. Additional questioning is conducted by Justice L Tourneau and Commissioner Peter Desbarats.~Supplementary examination follows with questioning by Alain Prfontaine for the Government of Canada. Cross-examination then ensues with questioning Hendin. Re-examination follows with questioning by Stauffer. This completes the day's proceedings.
