"Jack" Tully about his career as an oceanographer with the Canadian government. Among the subjects of the interview are his education, his marriage, the start of his career at the fisheries research station at Nanaimo, the duties of the scientists at the station, research on oysters, the 1928 car accident in which he sustained a serious leg injury necessitating amputation, his wartime service for the navy researching submarine detection, postwar anti-submarine research, the polar continental shelf project and the Pacific Oceanographic Group.
