Description:

Silent footage shot in and around the Royal Military College at Kingston, Ontario and featuring members of the Drury family, including Bud and Chip. The first reel includes shots of: the Memorial Arch, the campus at RMC, Kingston Martello Tower and Old Fort Henry, sword drills and a gymnastics demonstration by Chip Drury. Clips of a formal dress parade with shots of Sergeant Major Coggins, Acton Fleming, M.S. Brown, R.K. Mackenzie, G.H. Spencer, and Ian Mackenzie, Minister of National Defence, on the reviewing stand. The second section of the film includes scenes of the trooping of the colour with Brigadier E.C. Mathews and marching exercises by the graduating class. Closeup view of the Drury family. The final reel includes clips of the graduation celebrations at R.O. Sweezey's house. Guests include Dick Shaw, George Spencer, W.W. McConnell, Len Atack, Malcolm Sutherland Brown, and Colonel K. Stuart. Shots of MGM (Mitchell Sound Camera) recording scenes during the party. <25mn>

1. Film originally shot as feature by MGM to be released in 35mm Ansco Colour, however, with the war the film was not released.~2. Someone at MGM selected the scenes in these three reels and they were sent to Mr. Chip Drury, brother of Bud Drury, Head of Treasury Board (October 1973).~3. They were found by Malcolm Sutherland Brown, who also appears in the film.~4. There are some excellent shots of the Drury family.~5. Information for notes provides by W. Galloway's notes.
