Fonds consists of annotated, printed recollections of Lady Robinson regarding the inter-related families: the Robinsons of Yorkshire, the Phillipse family, the Kearney family, the Skinner family, the MacGregor family and the Van Cortlandt family. The recollections include her childhood remembrance of the treatment of her family by the rebels at Amboy, New Jersey, 1776, her married life with Sir William H. Robinson, who predeceased her, and his early life. The recollections were printed by Barrett, Sons and Co., Printers, Seething Lane, London, [1842]. This material is located on microfilm reel A-1985.

Robinson, Lady Catharine, ca. 1767-1843 : Lady Catharine Robinson was one of thirteen children of Cortlandt Skinner and his wife Elizabeth Kearney. At the beginning of the American Revolution, Skinner was the Attorney General of New Jersey and was a large New Jersey landowner. A Loyalist to the British Crown, he was expatriated in March 1776. He was captured by the rebels and later exchanged, in September 1776. He left his wife and children, including Catharine, at Perth Amboy for a time. She married Sir William Henry Robinson in 1794 and had five children, three of whom survived to adulthood.
