Far Eastern Commission : In December 1945, at the Moscow Conference of foreign ministers, the Far Eastern Commission (FEA) was established to deal with the Japanese surrender and peace terms. The FEA replaced the Far Eastern Advisory Commission (FEAC) and played an active role in formulating policy relating to the fulfilment of surrender terms for Japan. Lester B. Pearson and Herbert Norman represented Canada on the Commission and chaired the constitutional committee. The Commission first convened in Washington and moved to Japan at the end of 1945. The FEA remained in operation until the signing of the Japanese peace treaty of 1951. RG25 General Inventory and John W.
