Fonds comprises editorial cartoons and editorial illustrations, published in the Ottawa Citizen. The majority of works were created to illustrate in-depth investigative articles on topics of concern to today's society. Subjects of note include family violence, smoking, the economy, taxation, sports, male-female relationships, computers, religion, psychology, stock markets and investments, youth, crime, travel, education, human rights, national unity, drug abuse, home ownership, working conditions, aging, and health issues.

Personalities of note in the national arena include Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell, Jean Charest, Audrey McLaughlin, Jacques Parizeau, David Peterson, Michael Wilson, and Pierre Trudeau. Cultural figures include various rock singers such as the Beach Boys, John Mellencamp, Harry Belafonte, Warren Zevon, Johnny Winter, Areosmith, Metallica, Chuck Berry and Diana Ross. Also covered are such international events as the Gulf War, free trade negotiations, the invasion of Panama, political kidnappings, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and armed conflicts.
