Series consists of records created and/or maintained by F Division. The records include letterbooks, a letterpress book of telegrams, weekly reports, daily orders, daily diaries, reports and operational records. The records in this series were created when F Division was based in Prince Albert.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police. F Division (Sask.) : The original force of the NWMP marched west out of Fort Dufferin in July 1874. At the end of this march, the "B", "C", and "F" divisions founded Fort Macleod in October 1874. The "F" division stayed at Fort Macleod until August 1875 when they headed north to establish Fort Calgary. They remained at Calgary for three years. In 1878, the "F" division was relocated to the NWMP headquarters at Fort Walsh, as Fort Calgary was relegated to an outpost of Fort Macleod. The "F" division remained at Fort Walsh until 1882. In 1882, the NWMP was reorganized into five districts and the "F" division was disbanded. The troops of the former "F" division that were stationed at Fort Walsh were folded into the "E" division, while those at the outstation of Wood Mountain were folded into the "B" division. No "F" division existed from 1882 to 1884. In 1885, five new divisions were created. The "F" division was recreated and assigned to Prince Albert. In 1919, Prince Albert was made the headquarters of the new North Saskatchewan district. They remained at Prince Albert until 1931. In 1932, the North and South Saskatchewan districts were combined into the Saskatchewan district and the "F" division moved to the new headquarters in Regina, where they currently remain.
