Series consists of thirteen letters from Taconis to his wife Tess, n.d., 24 July to 20 August 1957, from Cairo and Tunis, while on assignment to cover the Front de libération in Algeria.

Series also contains correspondence in the form of letters between Taconis and the following: Cornell Capa, John G. Morris, Harry Hindemarsh, John Hostetler, Gene Aliman, Tom Daly, among others.

Miscellaneous textual material include invoices of expenses, a prospectus, programmes, brochures, trip itineraries, committee reports (from Magnum), various newspaper clippings (Dutch, French, Arabic newspapers), official press releases from then Senator (Dem.-Mass.) John F. Kennedy regarding Algerian Rebels, technical reports concerning fiber optics and various magazine tear sheets.
