Item is of unknown provenance, acquired sometime before 1931. The catalogue card is dated 2/7/31.
Consists of a watercolour by the artist F.A. Verner, who was born in Ontario and emigrated to England. He was a founding member of the O.S.A. (1872) and A.R.C.A. (1893). He is particulary known for paintings of western Canada and of buffaloes.
Image is a panoramic view of the Nipigon River in Ontario, with a Hudson's Bay Co. canoe and three fur traders. One figure is seated on the rocks while the other two stand beside the canoe.
