Series consists of drawings pertaining to St. Mathias Church in Westmount, Quebec and a drawing of a proposed commemorative square in Ottawa, private residences and St. Matthias Church (Westmount, P.Q.) produced by Rankin while employed by Ross & MacFarlane, architects (Montreal) as well as drawings pertaining to government projects produced for the federal Department of Public Works. These latter projects included a post office building (Barrie, Ont.), furniture for the Citadel (Quebec City, P.Q.) and the Dominion Archives building (Ottawa, Ont.), a proposed Memorial Gate (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) and an interprovincial bridge (Hawkesbury, Ont).

Series also accompanied by one box containing 11 small binders (355 leaves) of photoreproductions from the Pencil Point Series and from The American Architect and Architecture (1932-1936). The subject of the excerpts are designs for residences, furniture, gates and fences and interior design details such as moldings and cornices.

Architectural drawings include 35 pencil, 6 pencil, ink & watercolour, 6 pencil & watercolour, 6 ink (3 on linen), 1 pencil & pencil crayon, 1 ink & watercolour, 1 pencil & ink on linen, 23 blueprints and 3 photoreproductions (on 5 sheets).

Most items have been backed with cardboard or stock to reinforce the fragile nature of the drawings.
