This sub-series depicts the main British Battle Fleet "Grand Fleet" at their home bases of Scapa Flow, and Rosyth, Scotland. It prominently features the Battlecruiser Force. The last images in the "N" series depict the scuttling of the German fleet at Scapa Flow in June, 1919.

Custodial history:

The photographic collection of the Canadian War Records Office was transferred from London, England, to the Department of Militia and Defence in Ottawa in May, 1919. The material remained with the Department of National Defence until transferred to the Public Archives in 1963.
