Fonds consists of a copy of a diary describing Arthur M. Berry's service with Northern Aerial Mineral Exploration Ltd., 1928-1929, his expedition to Coppermine, N.W.T, 1930, flying operations, 1931, and rescue flight in 1936.

Fonds contains copied photographs of aerial views.

Berry, Arthur Massey, 1888-1970 : Born in March Township, Ontario, Arthur Massey "Matt" Berry served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force and the Royal Flying Corps during World War I. He was then a district superintendent in Ottawa for the Soldier Settlement Board, and a farmer in Alberta. After receiving his commercial pilot's license in 1928, he flew for the Northern Aerial Mineral Exploration Limited on mining exploration work. In the early 1930s he flew with Canadian Airways Limited and Mackenzie Air Service. In 1936 he was awarded the McKee Trophy for several hazardous flights to the Arctic coast and some outstanding mercy flights.

During World War II, he assisted in the construction of airfields in the Northwest Territories and the building of the CANOL (Canadian Oil Line) Project. After the war, he was associated with numerous aviation and mining firms.
