Collection consists of letters, memoirs, material concerning the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Corps. These papers include P. Heyd's Diary, 1914-1918. C.D. Phelan's Diary, 1939-1945, diary and documents relating to the Korean War, 1952-1953; histories of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery in Yukon, 1898-1899, during World War II and from 1871 to 1979; correspondence concerning an edition of R.C.H.A. history, 1981-1986, by G.D. Mitchell.

Canada. Canadian Army. Royal Canadian Horse Artillery : Canada formed two batteries of Artillery in 1871. In 1883, they were named Regiment of Canadian Artillery and in 1893, Royal Regiment of Canadian artillery including batteries of Royal Canadian Field Artillery. In 1905, the R.C.F.A. was formed into the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. The R.C.H.A. served abroad during World War I, World War II and the Korean Conflict.
