Ottawa Rifle Club : The Ottawa Rifle Club was organized on 30 March 1875 for the purpose of encouraging shooting in the Ottawa area. Its officers included a President, a 1st and 2nd Vice-President and a Secretary-Treasurer all elected annually by the Club's members. The Ottawa Rifle Club set regulations for target practices and for the selection of teams. The results of each day's practice were kept in a scorebook by the treasurer. The Club held competitions for shooting and adhered to the rules of the Dominion Rifle Association in firing.
