Fonds consists of two series: Historical series consisting of records relating to the Russian Famine Relief Operation and the Administrative records series relating to its domestic and overseas activities in India and the Caribbean, 1921-1958. The fonds also contains a photograph of Nellie McClung, her son Mark, and her dog Philip in front of her house in Edmonton, [ca. 1910].

Canadian Save the Children Fund : Save the Children-Canada began its existence as the Canadian Committee of the British Save the Children Fund which was organized in 1921. It participated in the Russian famine relief operations following negotiation of the Nansen Agreement in 1921 by the International Union for Child Welfare. The Canadian branch of the Fund has continued to provide relief for distressed children in many parts of the world. Its role has ranged from giving emergency aid to starving, young victims to supporting children, families and communities in developing countries and at home in Canada. It seeks to improve the quality of life of children through the realization of their rights. In 1946, it ceased to operate as a committee of the British Fund and became a member of the International Union as a separate body, the Canadian Save the Children Fund. It was later renamed Save the Children-Canada.

Since the 1960's, Save the Children-Canada works in partnership with local communities in Canada and other countries to develop and implement projects which focus on the education of children, alleviating poverty, elimination of violence, and providing economic opportunity.
