There are also posters relating to World War II.Provenance:Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Hanson, Richard Burpee, 1879-1948 : Richard Burpee Hanson, born in 1879 at Bocabec, N.B., received his education from Mount Allison University and Dalhousie University, and was called to the New Brunswick Bar in 1902. He practised law at Fredericton, N.B., was a director of several business and railway firms, and served as Mayor of Fredericton, 1918-1920.
He was a Member of the House of Commons, representing York-Sunbury, N.B., 1921-1945. During this period he served as Member of the Privy Council, 1934, Minister of Trade and Commerce, 1934-1935, and Leader of the Conservative Party in the House of Commons, 1940-1943.
