The organization was not to be a political party, but to be a pressure group, working on the government to carry out the Action Canada programme. This consisted primarily of alterations to economic and social policies. Action Canada planned to exert this pressure by means of its own elected members of Parliament, and to endorse candidates of other parties advocating its policies. The organization ceased to function effectively following Mr. Hellyer's switch to the Progressive Conservative Party in July 1972.Additional information:General note:Received in 1972 and 1973 from the Hon.
