Fonds consists mainly of records related to the life and career of Eula Lapp as well as some records related to her husband, Reverend Gordon Lapp. These records comprise the following series of textual records: Diaries, 1918-1987; Scrap-books, n.d., 1923-1965; Canadian Girls in Training, n.d., 1923-1969; Girls' Work Board, n.d., 1931-1952; General files, n.d., 1912-1986; Gordon Lapp, 1927-1970; Eula Lapp - personal correspondence, n.d., 1929-1985; Canadian Authors' Association, n.d, 1958, 1968-1974; and Nellie McClung and family, [ca. 1927-1961], 1974-1982.

The fonds contains photographs showing activities of Trail Rangers, Tuxis Boys, Canadian Girls in Training, and Explorers summer camp; studio portraits and snapshots of Eula Lapp and Gordon Lapp in Alberta and Ontario; residents of Munson, Alta; Eula Lapp and family; Nellie McClung and family; Central United Church and Wesly Church, Calgary; the "Dizzy Dozen", 13 women trained at Calgary Normal School, 1925, in various reunions, 1950, 1975, 1980; portraits of Elizabeth (Forbes) Lautenslager; the Ontario Historical Society Executive, 1962, with a certificate of merit received from the Canadian Historical Association.

Included in the fonds are landscape and portrait drawings, 1920-1931, predominant 1931.

The fonds also contains a Canadian Girls in Training lapel button and three Canadian Girls in Training cloth badges, [after 1917].

Lapp, Eula C. (Eula Carscallen), 1905- : Eula Carscallen Lapp was born in Red Deer, Alberta in July, 1905. She received her teaching certificate in 1925 from the Calgary Normal School and taught in and around Calgary for the next five years. Eula's mother, Molly (Bond) Carscallen, was Chairman of the Alberta Girls' Work Board. Eula Carscallen became interested in the Canadian Girls in Training, when she attended a summer camp in 1921 and directed her first camp in 1923.

In September 1930 Eula married Gordon Lapp (b.1904) and they moved to Toronto. Gordon, who had been the Boy's Work Secretary for Alberta of the Religious Education Council of Canada, subsequently assumed that responsibility for Ontario.

Gordon Lapp graduated from Emmanuel College, Victoria University in 1937. His first charge was as an assistant at Westminster Central (United) Church in Toronto. The Lapps served at several congregations of the United Church, including Keswick, Ontario (1940-1947), Central Church in Calgary (1947-1952), Meaford, Ontario (1952-1960), Lyndwood United Church in Port Credit, Ontario (1960-1970), and Bellefair United Church in Toronto (1970-1975). Wherever the Lapps were assigned Eula became involved in youth and women's organizations.

Eula was a member of the National Girls' Work Board and was active in many local Canadian Girls in Training groups. She and the Reverend Gordon Lapp taught courses in Christian education, gave talks to Church groups, directed summer youths camps, wrote articles for Church publications and programmes for youth groups.
