Series consists of journals recording a voyage from Glasgow to Quebec in 1845; a voyage to England and return on the Great Eastern in 1863; a survey trip on the Intercolonial Railway in 1863-1864; a sketchbook of pencil drawings made in June of 1870 of trips to the Thousand Islands, Grande Metis, Little Metis, the Matapedia, Bonami Point and other unidentified places; a voyage across the Atlantic and a European excursion in 1877; a tour of England, Wales and Scotland in 1878, a trip to western Canada and the Rocky Mountains in 1882-1883, and a voyage from Halifax to England and return in 1883.

Arrangement note:

The journal of the voyage from Glasgow to Quebec in 1845 and the sketchbook from 1870 of the Thousand Island other locations were placed in volume 148 for conservation purposes.
