Sub-series consists of records created and maintained by the lockmaster at Old Sly's, on the Rideau Canal. The records consist of lockmaster's journals, 1926-1939, and a book recording lock dues collected and a checklist of work performed, 1850-1857.

Canada. Dept. of Transport. Lockmaster (Old Sly's, Ont.) : The lockmaster at Old Sly's on the Rideau Canal was in direct charge of the lock station and reported to the Superintending Engineer of the Rideau Canal. The lockmaster enforced canal regulations, compiled statistics, supervised labourers, and prepared journals and reports. RG43 General Inventory
