Note générale :

This accession consists of biographical information on some of the scientists of the Geological Survey of Canada. It was collected by the Head Librarian, D. M. Sutherland. It also includes the correspondence of R.L. Broadbent who was responsible for preparing a mineral exhibition at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, Seattle, 1909. It contains various photographs and news articles, including a photograph of the Canadian Arctic Expedition 1913-1918.

Historique de la conservation :

These records were acquired sometime ago by the Manuscript Division of the National Archives of Canada. Since they are obviously government records and directly relate to the operations of the Library at the Geological Survey of Canada, they were transferred to the Government Archives and Records Disposition Division. They were not accessioned until October 1999.
