They document, through various awareness campaigns and protests, the activities of the Sierra Club in their efforts to preserve the environment and natural habitats of earth's biodiversity.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Sierra Club of Canada : The Sierra Club of Canada was founded in British Columbia in 1969 as a chapter of the Sierra Club in the United States. By the mid 1980s, there were many more Sierra Club members across Canada with two chapters, the Western Chapter based in Victoria and the Eastern Canada Chapter in Toronto. The national office was opened in Ottawa in 1989. Sierra Club of Canada was federally incorporated in 1991. The Prairie Chapter was established in 1994. Sierra Club's mandate is to protect the wilderness and preserve the environment. It maintains several campaigns designed to raise public awareness and address environmental and social policy issues including climate change and ozone depletion, toxic chemical contamination and loss of biological diversity.Source:Private -
