Sub-series consists of records related to the functions of radio and telecommunications, which were assigned the file blocks of 3100, 6200, 7200, and then later 6650 and 6800 in the transport central registry. Subjects include, but are not limited to, radio license and inspection reports, private commercial broadcasting, government owned radio stations, radio beacon stations, marine stations, RCMP radio stations, telegrams, night and day letters, wireless stations in the north, telecommunications and electronics, radio logs, radio conventions between Canada and the United States, radio licences, telegraphs, cables and telephone systems, the Northwest Communications System, landline connections, establishments and installations.

Sub-series also includes plans of telecommunications equipment and operating houses across Canada.
