It holds personal correspondence of Katharine Cronyn Harley, including letters from Hume Cronyn; correspondence between their uncle Samuel V. Blake and A. Percy Saunders; Cronyn family papers; and clippings and photographs relating to the acting careers of Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Harley, Katharine Cronyn : Katharine Frances Cronyn was born in London, Ontario, the eldest daughter of Hume Blake Cronyn (a businessman and Member of Parliament) and Frances Amelia Labatt, of the brewing company family. She was an elder sister of the celebrated actor Hume Cronyn. She married John R. Harley and raised a family in London. Katharine Cronyn Harley was the first woman elected to the Synod of the Diocese of Huron of the Anglican church, whose first bishop had been her great-grandfather Benjamin Cronyn.
