Seagram and Sons Ltd. Waterloo distillery. The museum was established as a showpiece devoted to the history and technology of wines and spirits, presenting the history of the Seagram Company, the distilling industry and associated industries with a collection of artifacts, as well as fine and decorative art. It also examined the production process, trade and consumption of alcohol. The museum's collection was supported by the beverage alcohol library and archives. On 27 March 1997, after twelve years in operation, the Seagram Museum was permanently closed and its collection distributed amongst various Canadian repositories including the National Archives of Canada.
