Accession consists of a single immigration case file pertaining to a sponsorship application made by the Knights of Columbus. It consists of detailed correspondence and supporting documents related to the application. For similar immigration records, consult the Regional Office Series in RG76 (Records of the Immigration Branch) and the Citizenship and Immigration Canada fonds (R3260). Since 2016, these records are held in the National Capital Region.

This accession consists of immigration records that were tranferred to the National Archives of Canada by Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC). HRDC has never been formally responsible for the immigration function, however when it was established in 1993, it assumed partial responsibility for the Canada Employment Cebtres (CEC) and Canada Immigration Centres (CIC). This resulted from the complicated devolution of responsibilities in the regions following the establishment of HRDC. It should be noted, however, that even prior to the creation of HRDC there is evidence that the labour and employment functions of the Department of Employment and Immigration were sometimes mixed. This has resulted in some immigration records being held at Canada Employment Centres.
