Fonds consists of a presentation album of 28 photographic prints, from the Canadian photographer George Lancefield, to the journalist and explorer, Henry Morton Stanley, dated 1896. The reason for the gift is not known at this time. Although the album is dated 1896, the photographs are from various dates. Most, if not all, are by Lancefield. The photographs are views of Canadian subjects: 3 of Niagara Falls; 2 of Quebec City; 7 of Parliament Hill and the Langevin Block in Ottawa; one of Wellington St., Ottawa; 3 of the interior of the Houses of Parliament, Ottawa; 2 of the Ottawa River, Ottawa, including one with a timber raft; 2 of farm scenes; 3 interiors of train cars; one of Mount Royal, Montreal; one of Mount Pleasant, Toronto; one of a railway in Hamilton; one of log huts at a lumber camp; and one of the Sharp Shooter's Monument for the Riel Rebellion of 1885.

The album was purchased at Christie's (London) auction house. The album was held by the descendants of Henry Morton Stanley, journalist and African explorer, until the auction.
