Additional records of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) in Canada, relating largely to railway workers lodges. Included are: minutes, correspondence, convention documents, and other records of District Lodge No 2 (the national district lodge for railway workers); constitutions, by-laws, proceedings, and other records on the Canadian Council of Railway Shopcraft Employees; speeches of former General Vice-President for Canada, Valerie Bourgeois; IAM Railway General Chairmen's weekly reports and correspondence; correspondence and by-laws files on railway local lodges of the IAM; collective agreements, correspondence, memoranda, reports and other papers relating to such issues as contract negotiations, pensions, working conditions, shop closings, arbitrations, organizing campaigns, raids by the Shopcraft Organizing Committee, and the transfer in 1994 of the IAM railway membership to the Canadian Auto Workers, and involving various rail employers including Canadian Pacific, VIA, Canadian National, Ontario Northland, and Algoma.
