Records are maintained in the original order they were received from the creator. This accession shows evidence of rearrangement and later chronological order A substantial part of this order represents the order of materials worked on at a given time. However, there are several points where the creator chose to include selected earlier material retained by him or received by him during the predominant period of the fonds. At certain points in this accession working documents were separated from correspondence while in the later portion they were maintained together..
The original physical arrangement of the fonds was a swath of dated drafts, correspondence and other material with a number of formal files interspersed. Where possible the divisions of titled files or bundles held together by elastic bands are noted, otherwise changes between files are imposed, therefore possible that the material of the previous or subsequent file is related. Choices have been made to break between files for large manuscripts or for groupings of worksheets and correspondence and notes.
Box list from the creator is available to researchers upon request and box order has been maintained from these listings.Source:PrivateFormer archival reference no.:LMS-0166Other accession no.:1990-04 LMS -
