This accession consists of operational records created and/or maintained by the Regional Office of Transport Canada in Winnipeg relating to Airports Group, Airworthiness Branch of the Aviation Regulation Directorate, Policy and Coordination Group and Western Grain Transportation Agency.

Records from Airports Group include but are not limited to the following: 1750- Airports Devolution; 2070- Organization; 2100- Conferences & Committees Departmental; Airports Construction and Maintenance Files (old series), etc.

Records from Airworthiness Branch include but are not limited to the following: 5010- Engineering Approval records.

Records from Policy and Coordination Group pertain to the following: 3202- Grain Transportation.

Records from Western Grain Transportation Agency include a small number of Special Projects and Studies from the 6000- to 6600- file blocks, such as: Acadia Valley Terminal 2000 Proposal; Alternate Service Projects; Background Evaluation Of Applications for Projects; Result Group Study; System Improvement Reserve (SIR) Fund General Proposals & Requests 1990; etc.

Records are arranged by Group and therein numerically per the department's file subject classification system, with the notable exception of the records from the Western Grain Transportation Agency, which are arranged alphabetically by name of producer or project.

Historique de la conservation :

The records were retained by the Winnipeg regional office of Transport Canada beyond their retention periods and as most were identified as archival, were subsequently directly transferred to Government Archives Division - Winnipeg custody.
