A file under a "Department of the Interior, Indian Branch" docket, number 5681 of 1875, labelled "Lake of Two Mountains Indians thru' Rev. A. Parent", containing correspondance with Rev. A. Parent regarding the demolition of the Indian (Methodist) Church at Oka," which includes the following correspondence related to the Mohawks of Kanesatake:

1- Correspondence (3 documents) with Methodist Reverend Armand Parent;

2- A written "Statement respecting the tenure of the Seminary of St-Sulpice, in the Seigniory of the Lake of Two mountains P.Q., and the complaints of the Indians against the Gentlemen of the Seminary as respects the Indian claims to that Seigniory" signed by Lawrence Vankoughnet, deputy superintendant general of Indian Affairs, 1876;

3- A copy of the printed document "Return to an address of the House of Commons, dated 24th February 1870 for copies of all correspondence between the Government and the Iroquois Indians of Two Mountains, or other parties, relative to the sale or surrender of the Indian lands, with copies of orders in Council or other documents relating to the difficulties existing with said Indians; and also a statement shewing what reserves are available for such Indians in other parts of the country" (Ottawa : [Dept. of the Secretary of State], 1870, 44 p.). Pages 31 to 44 are torn; the lower half of them is missing.
