This accession consists of six series of Agriculture Canada records:

1) Calgary Regional Office - Files dating from the 1930s to 1970s on various activities of the department in Alberta pertaining largely to animal health.

2) Central Registry Series - Headquarters records dating from the 1900s to 1970s from various file blocks in the series: Administration, Agricultural Relations, Agricultural Stabilization Board, Canadian Grain Commission, Animal Health, Emergency Planning and Transportation and Storage.

3) Production and Marketing Branch - Records of the plant products division dating from the 1970s to 1970s. Most of these records date from the creation of the Division in 1937 as part of the new Production Service and extend past the Division's transfer in 1959 to the new Production and Marketing Branch.

4) Finance and Administration Branch - This series contains central registry records for the Branch
predecessor - the Administration Service - for 1945 to 1961 on the subjects of departmental finance, personnel, organization, committees and agricultural legislation.

5) Marketing and Economics Branch - Records of a food price survey conducted by Agriculture Canada and the Anti-Inflation Board, 1974-1980.

6) Miscellaneous - Files on poultry and egg programs, agricultural trade with the United States and Great Britain and agriculture and emergency and wartime planning for 1950s and 1960s.
