This accession consists of central registry files created by the Arts and Culture Branch and organized according to the 1982 functional Registry system and using the DGAC prefix. The administrative files cover such topics as book publishing development; relationships with associations, clubs and societies; committees; conferences; CRTC hearings and decisions; international and provincial co-operation and liaison; film and video certification; and parliamentary matters.

A handful of operational records concern Canadian film and video certification and film policy in general.
