The records in this accession consist of administrative and operational subject files created at Maritime Command (Marcom) Headquarters, 1967-1977, and at Maritime Air Group (MAG) Headquarters, 1975-1978.
Marcom files (boxes 1-112) touch on virtually every aspect of the Command's administration and operations, including: boards of inquiry and summary investigations; courts martial; grievances; accidents; safety programs; visits; establishment; servince and civilian personnel; bilingualism; and standardization of equipment. Operational records include files on electronic communications; air operations; maritime operations; intelligence; defence plans; operations, exercises and manoeuvres; anti-submarine warfare; and ship repair.
The MAG registry files (boxes 113-131) are similar in nature. All aspects of administration and operations are covered, including the following: aircraft accidents; flight safety; cadets; committees, conferences and meetings; historical matters; aerial photography; orders and regulations; organization; establishment; maritime operations; operations, exercises and manoeuvres; treaties and pacts; anti-submarine warfare; and alterations and modifications.

Custodial history:

These records were originally held in Nova Scotia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
