Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the B.C. Region of the Department of Justice.

The accession includes, but is not limited to, general property files and land owned property files.

The general property files include records relating to: commerical and property law, legal liability research projects, First Nations bands, Airports Authority Group, various federal departments, contracts, land exchanges, conferences and meetings, Yukon land claim, fisheries and fishing licences, the Vancouver section of the Canadian Bar Association, early warning system (judgments and issues of a sensitive or controversial nature), Indian and Northern Affairs Canada specific claims, and land titles.

Land owned property files include records relating to: First Nations bands (including development on reserves and land claims), rights of way, claims for damages, transfers of airports to local airport authorities, school boards and districts, federal and provincial land, lease-backs, environmental issues, conservation easement, various federal departments, park reserve on Queen Charlotte Islands, national parks, land development, Veterans' Land Act, and estates.

Custodial history:

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
