Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the North Central District Office of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and its predecessors. Predecessors include the Shellbrook District, Saskatoon District and Prince Albert District offices.

The accession includes, but is not limited to records relating to: social development, including assisted living, child and family services, and income assistance; education, nominal rolls, tuition funding, school buildings, and special education; band management, including band council resolutions, financial management, and elections; community services, including capital assets inventory system, and water supply and sewerage systems; environmnental protection, including funding and waste disposal; legal opinions; economic development, including natural resources and tourism; land, including appraisals, leases and surveys and reserves; and registration and band lists.

These records were originally housed in Edmonton, but were later transferred to British Columbia. They were transferred again in 2016 and are now located in the National Capital Region and are available for consultation there.
