The Somalia Inquiry Liaison Team (SILT) was formed to liaise between the Department of National Defense and the Commission of Inquiry into the Deployment of Canadian Forces to Somalia (COI). SILT's mission was to collate, catalogue, and share documents relevant to Operation Deliverance (Somalia) with the COI. These records constitute part of the FOLIO Series. Upon the creation of SILT, SILT was to scan original records and store them using FolioViews software while keeping a hardcopies. This practice discontinued as maintaining both a digital and hardcopy collection became too laborious and time-consuming. These records were part of the hardcopy collection of records.

This accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Somalia Inquiry Liaison Team [SILT] of the Department of National Defense.
