This accession of records consists of central registry files created at Cornwall Headquarters and includes a variety of professional service and construction contracts issued by the Authority. The more significant contracts pertain to the Port Robinson to Ramey's Bend Welland Canal Re-alignment Project and concern such items as the construction of four steel bridge super-structures for approaches to the town line tunnel, highway 58 bridge, excavation of railway plugs, the City of Welland dock and the modification of Bridge 1, Welland Canal. Other contracts cover the decommissioning of bridges 5, 13, 14, 16 and 18 (Welland Canal), the survey, calculations and plans for the disposition of Galops Canal and north shore reserve land and the study of vessel scheduling, traffic control and operating techniques within the Welland Canal
These documents were accessioned after the proclamation of the Access to Information and Privacy Acts, and must be viewed in accordance with the provisions of the legislation before they can be made available for research
