General note:

The records in this accession consists of three ledgers naming all the Canadians who died whilst of military service during the First World War. The books are working copies used to prepare the final versions of the Books of Remembrance on display in the Peace Tower of the House of Commons.

Container one is the ledger for the 1914 to 1917, and Container two is one ledger for 1918 to 1920, and a separate ledger for corrections and those Canadians who died serving in either the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) or the Royal Navy (RN).

Custodial history:

Prior to transfer these records were part of the uncatalogued archival holdings of the Directorate of History and Heritage.
