Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Yukon Regional Office of the Department of Justice.

The accession includes records relating to various aboriginal civil litigation cases in the Yukon. More precisely, the records in boxes 1 to 3 concern the litigation case opposing the Dawson First Nation (now known as the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in) and the mining company Arkona Resources Inc. These boxes include records from the Supreme Court of the Yukon. Box 2 also contains a copy of the judgment of the Supreme Court of British Columbia in 1991 in the Delgamuukw case.

Box 4 includes records related to the Kwanlin Dun First Nation and Ta'an Kwachon Council First Nation (or Ta'an Kwachan) separation.

Boxes 5 to 10 contain records related to the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation litigation case, including the proceedings of the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Box 11 contains records related to various civil litigation matters, including placer claims, funding arrangements, housing, renewable resources, forest allocations, and timber permits. They concern the following groups of First Nations: White River, Kwanlin Dun, Dease River, Teslin Tlingit Council, Kluane, and Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in.

Historique de la conservation :

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
