Accession consists of various miscellaneous briefing and reference material created and/or maintained by the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (ITC), though some records predate the department's creation.

Boxes 46-52 contain briefs and reference binders compiled for various ITC officials. The records were created in preparation for conferences and meetings on trade agreements, development banks and trade policy and for official visits to or from foreign countries. The records date 1966-1972.

Boxes 53-61 contain records of economics adviser Mr. A.S. Abell. They pertain to various programs and branches within the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce and to organizations, such as the Canadian Manufacturers' Association, which had close ties with the department. These records date 1948-1969.

Box 62 contains records relating to the Canadian International Trade Fair Program. They consist of reports and recommendations dating approximately 1952-1965.

Boxes 63-77 contain records maintained by the Office of General Relations. They deal exclusively with the Kennedy Round of General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and consist of briefings, reference material, and other general information. These records date approximately 1960-1974.
