Accession consists of Certificate attesting to William Hamilton having been awarded the Association of Canadian Advertisers Gold Medal Award for 1958; certificate attesting to the appointment of William Hamilton as Postmaster General of Canada on 21 June 1957; and three framed political cartoons drawn while Hamilton held the role of Postmaster General. The cartoons depict: 1) Hamilton telling a stamp designer working on the Avro Arrow commemorative stamp that he had "Better re-design it... adding a black border"; 2) Hamilton labelled as "Parliament's pinup boy"; and 3) Hamilton's image on a stamp.

Custodial history:

The records were originally owned by Ruth Isabelle Hamilton (wife of William Hamilton) but were inherited by her nephew, Peter Harle, in 2011. Peter Harle donated the records to Library and Archives Canada in 2023.
