These records document the maintenance, research, administrative duties, design, appearance, and management of various SLSA sites and equipment, including General Agreements (file block 15), Fire Protection (file block 25), Bridges (file block 28), Locks (file block 29), Canals (file block 33), Deeds (file block 37), Traffic (file block 56), Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering (file block 58), Concrete Control (file block 59), and Navigation (file block 60). Accession also includes various studies and reports related to SLSA sites and facilities, anniversary material and aerial photography.Custodial history:Records for the most part were created by the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority (SLSA) but were kept by the successor organization, the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC), a private non-profit organization, after SLSA was dissolved in June of 1998 and SLSMC took over responsibility for SLSA's navigational assets on Oct. 1, 1998.
