These records document the work of the International Joint Commission, Canadian Government Specifications Board, the Government of Canada (Acts), the Geographical Branch of the Department of Mines and Technical Surveys, The St Lawrence Seaway Authority and the St Lawrence Seaway Development Corp, the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario, and other organizations involved with the maintenance and operation of the seaway.
Accession also includes drawings, sweep charts/plans, tendering documents, traffic reports, committee records, proceedings, surveys, examination reports, and lithograph prints of a selection of Hans van der Aa artwork.Custodial history:Records for the most part were created by the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority but were kept by the successor organization, the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation, a private non-profit organization, after SLSA was dissolved in June of 1998 and SLSMC took over responsibility for SLSA's navigational assets on Oct. 1, 1998.
