This material is located on microfilm reels M-1992 to M-1994, M-6503 to M-6504, and M-6518 and M-6519. Also included in this fonds is a film sponsored by The Canadian Council of Engineers entitled Comment voulez-vous votre univers? and a Canadian Council of Professional Engineers award medal.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Canadian Council of Professional Engineers : The Canadian Council of Professional Engineers was established in 1936 and was known until 1958 as the Dominion Council of Professional Engineers. The Council, consisting of representatives from provincial professional engineering associations, had as its principal objective the co-ordination of the activities of the provincial associations and the consolidation of the engineering profession in Canada.
The main activities of the Council have centred around the advancement of the engineering profession through the establishment of uniform standards in engineering education and practice, attempts to form a larger national organization of engineers which would encompass the council, the Engineering Institute of Canada and other engineering organizations, federal and provincial government lobbying, and representation on international bodies.Information additionnelle :Note générale :Textual material copied in 1971, 1983, and 1984 from originals held by the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers. There is no paperwork associated with the moving image material.
