Fonds consists of a journal containing daily accounts of events, 1840-1845; there are, however, large gaps during the period, 1843-1845. Included are observations on the customs and daily life of indigenous people and accounts of Barnley's spiritual problems and achievements. This material is located on microfilm reel A-20.

Barnley, George, 1816-1904 : Missionary

George Barnley was ordained a Wesleyan minister in 1840 and was sent as a missionary to Moose Fort on Hudson Bay. His circuit included Abitibi, Albany Post and Rupert House.
