Martin, Philip, fl. 1756-1821 : Philip Martin, (fl. 1756-1821) joined the Royal Regiment of Artillery in about 1756 and there he rose to the rank of general, 1814. He served in the Louisbourg campaign, 1758, and was later posted to Placentia, Nfld.
