Fonds consists of three letters, one from J.M. Jones to Dunlop, dated at Toronto, 20 October 1835, one from Mr. [Peter] Perry to Dunlop dated at Gairbaird, 1 April 1836, and one to Dunlop from W.F. Gooding dated at Goderich, 20 December 1837, as well as a deed of sale between William Allan and Dunlop, for sale of land, dated at Toronto, 28 October 1834, 13 pages; and William Dunlop's last will and testament dated 31 August 1842, with an appendix dated 5 July 1847 and signed by John Prince, transcript, 3 pages.

The fonds also contains the following microfilmed material: journal, 1845, of Alexander Graham Dunlop; manuscript, n.d., of recollections of the War of 1812 by William Dunlop; diary, ca. 1812-1814 written in Canada; correspondence, n.d., 1841; portrait, 1833? of William Dunlop. This material is located on microfilm reels A-1689 and A-1780. It is also available on microfilm reels A-2144 and A-2145.

Dunlop, William, 1792-1848 : William "Tiger" Dunlop, politician, was born in Scotland, and came to Canada in 1826 with John Galt. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Canada from 1841 to 1847, and a prominent figure in the Huron District.

General note:

Three letters to Dunlop, one from J.M. Jones, 1835, one from Peter Perry, 1836, and one from W.F. Gooding, 1837, as well as a deed of sale were received in 1917. William Dunlop's last will and testament, 31 August 1842, was received in 1927 from D. McDonald of Toronto, Ont.
