Masaryk Memorial Institute : Masaryk Memorial Institute, a national non-profit, was organized in 1945 to serve the cultural, social, and recreational needs of Czecho-Slovak Canadians. It operates Czech and Slovak schools as well as a library. The Novy Domov (New Homeland), published by the Institute since 1950, informs its readers of Czecho-Slovak Canadian community affairs, keeps them in contact with the homeland and with Canadian society in general. Its drama circle, folkore group, and athletic organizations, as well as its many other sub-organizations serve the social and recreational needs of members and perpetuate Czecho-Slovak cultural traditions in Canada.
